Stanley's Bicentenary

Stanley’s Bicentenary | 30 October – 2 November

Stanley is celebrating 200 years of European settlement with a big weekend of events from Friday 30 October to Monday 2 November 2026 (the Recreation Day Long Weekend).

There’s something happening across the town, including a screening of The Light Between Oceans at Stanley Town Hall on Friday, a full day of activities and a parade at Stanley Recreation Ground on Saturday, followed by a traditional bush dance that evening. Sunday features a free open day, giving visitors the chance to explore and soak up Stanley’s fascinating history.

The Bicentenary is a community celebration, led by Stanley Discovery Museum, of Stanley's rich history, bringing together residents, visitors and local organisations through a diverse program of events. It’s a wonderful time to visit Stanley, enjoy the celebrations and be part of this special milestone for the town.
