Steamfest Tasmania

Experience Tasmania’s Premier Steam Festival This March Long Weekend!

SteamFest 2025: A Whole New Look

SteamFest is back for 2025, bigger and better than ever! Running from March 8–10, this incredible event in Sheffield celebrates the steam age, vintage machinery, historic railways, and the rural way of life in north-west Tasmania. As the 30th annual SteamFest, this year promises exciting new changes, including a revamped event layout and the welcome return of wood-chopping on Monday!

A Living Museum of Steam-Powered History

SteamFest isn’t just about looking—it’s about experiencing! Almost everything on display is operational, bringing history to life in a way that excites both young and old. Expect plenty of steam, noise, and action, with machines dating back to the 1800s, meticulously restored and maintained for working demonstrations.
