Dogs are welcome on sites and in some cabins at our 3 Parks. Please let us know if you are traveling with a dog so that we can allocate the most suitable site for you.

Planning a getaway to Tasmania and want to bring your dog along? Our Tassie Getaway Parks in Ulverstone, Stanley, and St Helens not only welcome pets but are also surrounded by a variety of pet-friendly experiences, beaches, and cafes.

Here's a guide to help you and your canine companion make the most of your Tasmanian adventure.

Pet-Friendly Experiences Near Our Parks

Ulverstone:

  • Beach Hut Coffee, a cafe within walking distance of the Park welcome dogs. It's also at the entrance to the dog walking section of Ulverstone Beach. Win win.
  • Thirty Three Cups is known for its excellent coffee and vibrant café vibe. The outdoor seating is dog-friendly.
  • Buttons Creek Beach in front of the Park is dog friendly, making it an ideal escape for you and your dog.
  • Table Cape Tulip Farm between Ulverstone and Stanley welcome dogs to run between the tulip rows (on a leash).

Stanley:

  • The town's charming streets and coastal areas offer plenty of opportunities for leashed walks and outdoor enjoyment with your dog.
  • Tatlow's beach in front of the Park is dog friendly and "Off Leash" from after the Park only. No dogs are permitted on the beach directly in front of the park. You can walk on the path with a leash.
  • Godfreys Beach is dog friendly and is "Off Leash" in the centre of the beach (look for the signs).
  • Anthony’s Beach, also known as Seven Mile Beach, located off the Bass Highway between Stanley & Smithton. A fabulous 24/7 off lead beach all year round. Walk for ages in either direction from the entrance point, which is about midway.
  • HA (Jimmy) Lane Memorial Lookout. A short drive out of town takes you to a hill overlooking Stanley, with a giant picture frame you can stand or sit in for your photo

St Helens: The East Coast of Tasmania boasts numerous dog-friendly spots. From short walks to mountain summits to beaches, there's plenty of options for adventure-minded dog owners on the East Coast of Tassie. East Coast Tasmania.

Traveling to Tasmania with Your Dog

Spirit of Tasmania: The Spirit of Tasmania ferry service offers pet-friendly options for travelers. There's a secure, climate-controlled pet kennel area with various kennel sizes to accommodate pets of all sizes. Passengers can visit their pets during the sailing, and there's a designated outdoor area where pets can be taken on a lead if required. Spirit of Tasmania

The enclosed exercise area for pets at Geelong terminal is at the check in process and easy to locate once you are at the terminal. Biosecurity Requirements: Before traveling, ensure your dog is treated for Hydatid Tapeworm within 14 days prior to arrival in Tasmania. Proof of this treatment is required at the quarantine checkpoint. This treatment is not required when returning to Melbourne. Caravanning with Pets
